ipsy November Glam Bag

I got my first ever ipsy glam bag in the mail this week, and I am so excited to finally have this subscription rolling! It’s always fun to get mail, but the way I see it, this is mail that I get to play with, and how is that not even more fun?

First, I guess I should start by saying that I’m pretty new at the “makeup thing”. I wore only black eyeliner until I was 22, so I’ve been keen to branch out and try new things – which is where the fun in ipsy starts. I get to select brands and products that I’d like to receive, and voila, all of the makeup experiments!

This month’s  rock starlet bag totally matched with my personal look. I was mostly excited to try theBalm’s Mad Lash mascara, and the Skone Cosmetics Brow Wand, because I’m most comfortable doing eye makeup, and I now use mascara and brow products on an almost-daily basis. I’ve been using those two products all week, and they’re both incredible. Mad Lash is the first mascara I’ve used that doesn’t smudge all over my eyes, and the curved applicator is exactly what I need to get those pesky corner lashes without making a mess.

I heard a lot of good things about the Porefessional – but honestly, it’s been alright. It isn’t covering my pores as much as I’d hoped, but I also don’t know if I’m using it entirely right. And I’m not too familiar with the specific effects of hair products on my hair yet, but the Verb Ghost Oil seems to be making a bit of a difference to my broken ends!

As for the LAQA & Co. blush – I only tried it once, but decided that blush is still not for me. My face is red enough, so I typically don’t need highlighter – but I’m sure those who do would love this product.

All in all, I was pretty happy with my first ipsy glam bag, and I look forward to see what next month has in store!
